London Borough of Lambeth choose Cirrus and CareTech’s telecare solution.

Lambeth is one of the most densely populated London Boroughs with a population of approximately 270,000. Lambeth wished to improve and modernise services for sheltered tenants.This included providing access to telecare services via a robust and flexible solution, whilst at the same time retaining the social and community ethos of sheltered housing.

Social alarm and telecare systems needed to be installed at 22 of Lambeth’s sheltered housing sites. The Council wanted to achieve a value for money outcome that provided up to date and future proof technology meeting Next Generation Network (NGN) compatibility.

Cirrus, our UK partners is a leading UK system integrator for telecare, life safety, communications and security systems to the residential property market specialising in the retirement and extra care sector. As a result of a procurement process Cirrus was selected as the provider to work with Lambeth in designing and installing a value-based solution.

The new system adopts the use of CareTech Grace carephones linked to a Private Branch Exchange (PBX) which opens up a host of peripheral telecare equipment through which Lambeth can now provide assistance to residents with greater needs, e.g. fall detectors, flood detectors and activity monitors.
